Personal Projects - Local Architecure

I started shooting building in my postcode that I liked the look off, or I thought would make a good shot. Nearby to my house about a 3 min drive, a new youth centre has been built in a park to encourage social interaction for young kids. I've yet to get inside but I am hoping that shooting the exterior I would be able to get inside and shoot some interior architecture. I used this opportunity to shoot something that I wanted to shoot too, so as well as day shots, I went for the twilights too. I checked on my sun tracker app, and it knew when the perfect time would be to get gorgeous light caressing the side of the building. I started to see beautiful light hit the building with some interesting shadows cutting across to give some interesting lines. I was excited, to say the least, but the exterior light and the ambient light didn't balance so I waited patiently. the light was getting better and better, colour in the sky was getting saturated and a few clouds in the sky just made everything perfect, couldn't Photoshop a better scene. This is anticipation quickly came to a halt, the sun was now blocked by a building opposite and the light on the building now...had gone. by the time the perfect time to shoot the sun was low enough that the buildings across the road had blocked any of the light the was so desperately in awe of. You can see some of the days shot below.

This 1700 sq.m, £6million investment into a youth zone for all ages up to 19. At just £5 annual membership and 50p per visit you can get up to 20 activities per night! That is incredible value. Its looks just as incredible from the exterior.

Car and photography.

My love for cars has always been up there with my love for photography. The best part about photographing and understand how to take good photos is that whatever i am interested in I can photograph it better than average and appreciate the subject that I'm photographing as well as the journey of photographing it well. Cars being so readily available to shoot and most people with nice cars are very willing to have a shoot, in exchange, I shoot them with the cars and also I would give them all the photos. The benefit I get from this is seeing and being in some amazing cars, I also get the opportunity to drive them too which is probably a better deal on my side (which I will never complain about) Below are some of my favourite cars and some of my favourite photos of those cars.

This could be the perfect time to update your images.

With COVID-19 still affecting everyone, I think this could be an opportunity to update or shoot a project that didn't have the opportunity to do. While staying safe property photography can take place, this can be either architectural or interior photography (as long as the property is empty). Architectural photography is probably one of the safest subjects for everyone involved to photograph. This is also an opportunity to provide 360-degree tours of the property so people can virtually visit the site. so that when the lockdown is over, all the agents can get back to normal and make the sales that have been building up over the lockdown period. Architectural photography is also another area which is key at this moment. The availability to get access has never been easier. The opportunity for compositions as some places within London, some of the best composition can be in the most compromising position because in the middle of the road. With the light to non-existent traffic its a critical time to take advantage of these quiet time. For interior designer's it must this also applies to you, you may just have finished a project either for residential or commercial. An 80sq.ft bedroom or a 500sqft commercial office space. Either way, I can go in and get you shots you may have struggled to get before with workers working. Access is easier to get than ever before! Now could potentially be the best time to get ahead of the competition, and also your self. Let's have a chat and see if we can safely get your projects shot!

COVID-19, the London Lockdown and the affects on Photographers.

When I first heard about the coronavirus, I went into beast mode and was thinking it won’t hurt me and ill get over it. I still believe even if I do contract it I would be fine. I went into a super work-o-holic mode and I was really pushing for as much work in one day as possible for at least 4 days. On Monday it was announced that we are going into lockdown. The real worry kicked in for me, but common sense was telling me the more people that stay in and the more people that listen now, the quicker we can all go back work and start earning money again. For everywhere that is self-employed, not only photographers, so I had to pull the trigger and unfortunately cancel all the shoots I had over the next two weeks (15 shoots). What I’m seeing is nothing but selfishness form the rest of the UK that are still able to get paid 80% of their salary. They are going still and the lockdown will only get more strict and more severe, definitely, it will be longer. Financially it will cripple a lot of people and it is definitely an action that we take now that will make the future of our business’. I had formed relationships with some new clients I was intending on starting working on their projects 3 weeks from Monday 23rd. I will keep in contact with all my clients during this time from now and then. To keep updated and to inform them when I am able to go back to work.

I DO NOT trust or rely on government help during this time, as self-employed currently don’t have much help, I believe it SSP which basically isn’t enough for me for what I have to pay for. If you don’t know it’s around £98 per week. As long as after the 3-week lockdown we can go back to work then all will be well. I hope that everything can continue with caution.

Real Estate Agents, this photography works...

An Estate agent I work for recently took me up on an offer to shoot twilight photos, its stuns me that I rarely see this type of photography and just how many people decline the opportunity to stand out. I’m on a mission to change the way agents think and how they spend their marketing budget. It is incredibly important to get a great photographer, instead, a lot of agents chose this agency that offers half-hearted photos, because they don’t pay the photographers well.

My mission is to show agents they should invest more into photography as marketing material and the benefits that come with it. I recently shot this home on a beautiful day, but even more beautiful evening and the photos are there to prove my point. Million-pound property arent the only ones that deserve amazing photos, the properties are usually beautiful and could sell themself. It’s my job as a property photographer to get the absolute best out of every property, no matter the price of the property.

I’m not offering these services for the money, it’s about value for me, I want to provide a lot of value for my clients because I want to make the difference that will make them succeed.
